How a case works

From your first call to the day the case closes

Every case is different, but most of ours follow these five steps. We tell you which one you're in.

  1. 01

    Step 1: You call us

You tell us what happened. If we can help, we set a free meeting within a few days, at our office, your home or the hospital.

  2. 02

Step 2: We sit down together

You meet the lawyer who will lead your case. We explain the fee and the costs in writing, and you take the agreement home to read before signing.

  3. 03

Step 3: We look into it

We visit the scene, request reports and records, and send preservation letters. You get on with getting better.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The claim

When your treatment has settled enough to know what the injury will cost, we send a written demand and negotiate. Every offer comes to you.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Settlement or trial

If the offer is fair, you can take it. If it isn't, we file suit and prepare for trial, and we tell you plainly what that will involve.

The first meeting

An hour, a glass of water and your questions

Bring whatever you have: the crash report, photos, bills, the letters from insurers. If you have nothing, that's fine too; collecting it is our job.

We'll tell you honestly whether you have a claim, roughly how long it might take, and what it will cost you. If we're not the right firm, we'll say so and suggest where to go.

A lawyer will call you back the same working day.
